Our story

Ľuboš, Gerard and Rasťo have decided to change their employment security for a great adventure and established their own company in Trenčín. Instead of selling shoes and billiard cues they decided to help people to develop their professional potential. They did not even know what was waiting for them – the first order, of course, was catastrophic. They did not achieve success on their first try, but they were not discouraged. Not the other.

Searching for candidates was totally different than today. We did not have a database and the first six core employees shared two computers. We have worked with phone book, fixed lines, and print advertising. Our first office was at the hotel room in the pension Svorad with two tables and three chairs.

Lugera´s origin is from a one third Dutch and Gerard´s charming personality have opened doors for us to work mainly with foreign companies from the Netherlands. We still work with some clients and a few candidates who have joined our first clients are still active there.

We have started to develop TalentBase® – our internal HR software, which gives us access to more than 330,000 contact and CVs today. TalentBase® contains information about all the meetings, phone calls and emails that we have sent. It works as CRM, attendance system, helpdesk and ATM in one. From the vendor who helped us to develop this miracle, we have been given not only the perfect system but also our current IT manager.

Lugera is growing and this small company is becoming a significant entity on the Slovak labor market. We employ amazing people who belong to top in the corporate world or they have started their own business. However, we still maintain a family culture in business, where people have a great flexibility and the feeling of creating something worthwhile.

We also cooperated with companies outside the Trenčín region, our consultants met with candidates all over Slovakia – in cafes or lobby bars. We opened our first branch outside Trenčín in 2004 and the new Lugera team in Bratislava setted up, and one year later we opened an office in Košice.

We are growing in the field of services, too. In 2000 we added a new service Payroll Outsourcing. Since 2000 is Lugera providing Permanent Placement, Temporary Staffing and Payroll Outsourcing. Situation in the Slovak labor market is very favorable, new investors are coming and our experience with mass recruitment makes us an ideal partner for large greenfield projects in the automotive industry. We successfully fill thousands of positions per year and we are moving Slovakia to the position of automotive superpowers together.

After successful years, when we managed to grow beyond Slovakia borders (the Netherlands, Romania, Armenia, Poland, Czech republic, Ukraine and Croatia), turbulent times have occurred for Lugera and the entire labor market. Our clients are stopping their projects and the wave of redundancies is also affecting us. We had to say goodbye to the great and handsome people we thought we would pull together for retirement. For our partners, this was the most difficult decision.

It was a great lesson that taught us that business is not built only on money, but especially on values. We have survived thanks to our flexibility, the willingness to travel to our clients even on Saturday night and the amazing deployment of our Lugera people, who believe in this company and fought for its rescue.

PAYROLL TEAM

The most popular team in Lugera, especially when the salary day is near. In addition to the
processing payroll for our core employees and approximately 300 temporary staff, they are also responsible for payroll processing of our clients. They issue more than 2 500 pay slips each month. Payroll team will solve your questions with HR administration and legislation, advise you with contract preparation. Everything they do, they do it with maximum emphasis on discretion. They know everything about us, but they do not betray anything. Really, we have tried. They are as silent as the grave.

IT TEAM

The most favored team in the whole Lugera. Their white magic prevents our systems from all viruses and traps. They are powerful magicians of laptops and printers, each technique listens to them. In their free time they program applications, organize Lugera parties and save the world.

FRONT OFFICE

Our Front Office Assistants are super women. Without them, there would be chaos, panic and there would be a caffeine withdrawal. Their secret weapons are multitasking and smile on their faces every time.

MARKETING

We are all very well aware that we are an amazing company. In order to be known all over the world, we also have Marketing, which creates, publishes, measures, analyzes, evaluates, and make cappuccino with a pleasure for colleagues every Friday.

HR RESEARCHERS

In our Republic, you will also meet temporary-time citizens (part-time employee) who help us to do miracles for our clients, they need only one call to get Chuck Norris to the interview and they are able to turn your CV into a digital profile in a minute. Usually, after their part time end they are more than welcome to become a proper citizen in our republic.
